Injection Molding Simulation Using LabView

Die Characteristics

Controls within this section of the interface are used to adjust the characteristics of the die (tree and runner system). This LabView VI can handle a maximum of four different branchpoints, with up to 10 branches as each point. If you wish to simulate fewer than four branchpoints, then simply set the length of the remaining branches to zero.

Die Stage

Controls in this section are used to select the Length, Radius, and number of branches for each stage of the die. The Die Length is the linear length of the die stage. The Die Radius is the radius of the stage, and the Die Multiple is the number of branches at the particular branch point. Please note that there is no Die Multiple control for Stage 1, as it is always assumed that the first stage is singular.

The value of the Die Length control may range from 0 to 25 centimeters, with the default being 5. The Die Radius may range from 0 to 5 centimeters, with the default being 1.0. The Die Multiple control may range from 0 to 10, with the default for each stage being 1 (radius change, but no additional branches).
